The Mahaska Rural Water Board of Directors has passed a $2.50 increase to the monthly minimum rate for all customers.
New Rate: Effective February 1, 2023

Each customer shall pay a minimum monthly amount of $26.50 (previously $24.00). This shall be for up to the first 3,000 gallons of water used per monthly billing cycle. |
Each customer shall pay $4.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used over 3,000 gallons per monthly billing cycle. |
SANITARY SEWER
Sanitary sewer rates will increase annually according to the United States Department of Labor Consumer Price Index calculation not to exceed three and one-half percent each July 1 effective July 1, 2019, in order to comply with city obligations and to meet the expenses associated with the city’s wastewater treatment works. This section shall not prohibit the city council from adopting rate changes, by resolution and with appropriate notice as outlined in Iowa Code, Section 362.3, at any time in a fiscal year. |

The water rates contained herein shall be increased by ten percent (10%) for all new customers, except tax-supported facilities, located outside the corporate limits of the City which the City has agreed to serve.
Sewer rates are billed as noted in the table above. Water meters are read monthly across the entire town.
